Summer Term Overview

Summer Term cohorts begin in June 2021. NapaLearns provides subject-matter expert instructors who establish milestones, meet with the student cohort each week, gauge their progress and help them through each course module. In addition, NapaLearns arranges and pays for the certification test prep and exams for those participants who want to take the tests.

How Much Does It Cost to Attend?

Through the generous support of our donors and partners, NapaLearns is able to offer these courses to students at no cost or a highly discounted cost per course.

Napa County High School Students
NapaLearns covers the costs for Napa County high school students to attend one summer course. Students may take more than one summer course, but normal tuition rates apply for additional courses.

All Others
We offer discounted rates for others or to those who have employers with education assistance programs. Scholarships are available for individuals needing financial support.
Limit one course scholarship per individual.

Programming Essentials in Python

Duration 10 Weeks • June 9-August 11, 2021 Wednesdays 6-7 pm	Prerequisites None

Instructor Naser Heravi	Certification PCEP: Certified Entry-level Python Programmer

Learn Python – the versatile programming language! Python is used by startups and tech giants like Google, Facebook, Netflix, and more. With intuitive, readable syntax, Python is a great first programming language to learn. Programming skills open you up to careers in almost any industry and are required if you want to continue to more advanced and higher paying software development and engineering roles. This course is a great place to start learning Python – no prior programming knowledge required.

Social Media: Facebook Blueprint

Duration 8 Weeks • June 14-August 5, 2021 Mondays 6-7 pm	Prerequisites None

Instructor Claudette Shatto	Certification Facebook Blueprint

Become a Facebook Blueprint Certified Digital Marketing Associate. This course will cover the fundamentals of creating, managing, and reporting on ads across Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. The lessons in these courses are practical, putting concepts into context with storytelling and offering downloadable materials to help bring what you learn to life. The ideal candidates for this certification are entry level marketers, including students and job seekers.

Adobe Lab

Duration 8 Weeks • June 22-August 12, 2021 Tuesdays/Thursdays 6:30-7:30 pm	Prerequisites None
Weekly Coursework 4 to 6 Hours Per Week	Cost $150 (Scholarships Available)
Instructors Lisa Gottfried/JP Castillo

In this 8 week course, explore the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications and earn a certification that will help you progress in your career. Students can choose from Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign, After Effects, Dreamweaver, or Animate. Through hands-on projects that focus on the methods used in the industry, you will learn everything you need to master your tool of choice and get certified.
